Realease Blog Tour

After uniting the shifters and calling in reinforcements, Chase has to face his toughest challenge yet: learning to control his emotions. But as tensions rise and his powers grow, controlling his emotions becomes the least of his problems.
Terrorized by a multi-shifter who is hell-bent on turning him, Chase questions just how far he’s willing to go to stop his father.  Meanwhile, Tiki’s virtuous nature has placed him in the middle of Vincent’s past, leaving Chase to oppose a senate of vampires and defend a demon he hates.
Trying to balance his friends, his enemies, and his inner demons, Chase is left searching for answers about the Mark, his destiny, and where he can find the next soul piece. Stopping Riley is his top priority, but as more obstacles arise, he finds himself doubting all the decisions he’s made - especially regarding Rayna.
One thing is for certain: Chase has finally realized that he doesn’t know anything. The light doesn’t always quell the darkness, the monsters don’t always stay in the shadows, and the past doesn’t always stay in the past - sometimes, the demons inside are the hardest to fight.

So I completely was hyped up on Shift that I couldn’t wait to read Release. Usually when I do that I get majorly disappointed…. So not the case here, I was absolutely blown away again. That’s right AGAIN! I also have to say I cried in this book, specifically at the end. If you haven’t read Shift, then stop right here!!

So I love WILLY, he keeps getting better and better. He’s developed a tough skin and stands up for what he thinks is right. Since he’s become a wolf, he hasn’t been able to see Chase and Rayna that much but that doesn’t change the fact that they are family and that’s one of the things I love about M.R. Merrick's books. Family is important, blood doesn’t mean everything, it’s the bonds that are formed. Chase, Rayna, Willy, Tiki, and Marcus are a dysfunctional family, but one none the less. They look out for each other which is good considering what they are up to face.

Riley and the Dark Brothers are unrelenting.  Chase’s powers are developing faster than they thought possible, sounds good right? Well not everything is always as good as it seems. Sometimes with great power comes a great consequence.  Will Chase’s power be the one thing that costs him his family? Why is his powers starting to go haywire?  I hoped Chase and Rayne would be able to take their “relationship” further, but with all that was going on that didn’t happen. The attraction is still there and a few kisses may have been executed perfectly J .

TIki is awesome. He’s the one who stands up  for Vincent when everyone else didn’t want to. Vincent, sigh, where to begin with him. If there was other circumstance, I might like Vincent, but as we sit now,  not so much. Lol. I got a better understanding for him in this book, and the way he cares about his family. However, Vincent comes into trouble with his biological family and seeks Chase’s help. This is why Tiki stands up for him and in turn gets Chase to do the same.

The end will leave you shocked and saying, “Oh.My.God what the hell just happened?!” Then you’re going to cry, well I started to cry a little before then.  I swear I did and I tweeted M.R. Merrick's as soon as I finished saying he made me cry. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book and whatever book M.R. Merrick's rights next. He has definitely made me a fan of his. It’s so easy to get swept up in the worlds he creates. Their scary beautiful and the creatures are terrifying but amazing at the same time. You can't put the book down once you've started, it's almost physically impossible. Wonderful Job M.R. Merrick's! I cannot be happier reading one of your books, seriously, you've made me change my whole opinion on male writiers. I have to say you've set the standard extremely high!

-Dani

M.R. Merrick's is becoming one if my favorite people! Release was a page turner from start to finish.....and at the finish were shocked tears!!!
Chase and the Gang are still trying to end Riley, figure out Chases powers, ya there's more, and keep everyone safe!

M.R. Merrick's takes you on this wild ride with things happening everywhere. Chase seems to be running ragged and he and Rayna can't seem to catch a long enough make out break! (Hehe I want that part)

Vincent is having issue with his mom and wants Chase's help. Actually he demands it and throws a fit when he's expected to help back :) Let me just say, I sorta, kinda, really like Vincent, even though he can be a jerk.  He's my favorite Character in this book.

With Chase being sent in another mission and Rayna tapping in to get witch powers people are scattered in different realms. However on the last quest the groups split up. What happens? And who makes it out alive and who doesn't?
This was the best book yet in the protector series by
M.R. Merrick's! Can't wait for book 4!!

Get started today!

Cursed

Dying sucks--and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.

So I've read the Lux series by this author and loved them! Everyone has been talking about Diety, the next book due out on the 6th for the Covenant series, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start reading the series so I'll be caught up for the release. However, my blogging partner has already read them so we decided to read Cursed since it looked really good and we both haven't read it. Let me tell you how awesome this book is, I'm really hoping it's going to be as series because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Ember and Hayden.

So about this book, but where to begin...sigh.. Love is all I can say right now. So Ember died, literally, but was brought back. Oh, I should warn you that this is sorta paranormal so if you don't believe in reading about people who have "abilities" though this is a really good book that's written very well, it's probably not the book for you! So Ember's sister Olivia is considered "gifted" with the ability to bring you back from the dead. That's what happened to Ember. There was a car accident that killed Ember and her father, but Olivia brought back Ember. Now Ember's skin is scarred from the accident, her eye color changed to a pale blue, oh and if you come into contact with her skin you die.  With a catatonic mother, Ember raises her sister for two years, that is until Hayden enters the scene.

Hayden Cromwell has a past and a secrete of his own. He's been watching Ember for two years. It started with interest in Olivia, but the night Olivia brought Ember back, John Cromwell with the help of Liz,another gifted, a new gift was born that night. That brought them to check on Olivia and Ember, but that's also when Hayden's interest in Ember began surfacing. Realizing Ember saw him at the school he decided he was going to talk to her. He followed her to the library and spoke a few words, which only furthered his curiosity. The next contact they had was when he was bringing Ember to his home.

Ember has trust issues and when thrust into a situation that wasn't talked about before hand, made you less inclined to be nice.Struggling to be in a house where your own sister rather stay than be with you, surrounded by people with a variety of gifts who obviously didn't want you there, Hayden was the only one who didn't make her feel unwanted. Not to mention wiping the memory from the only friend she had after the accident, which made me bawl by the way, I seriously cried every time Adam was brought up, makes it hard to trust the people who say they are trying to help her. Even with her doubts, Hayden wants to help her control the gift she refers to as a curse, but someones out to get her. With feelings soaring high between Hayden and Ember, will she be able to trust him fully? Will the person who wants her dead succeed? Will Hayden and Ember be able to love? You're going to have to read this book to find out!

-Dani

I have read almost all of the books by J.L. Armentrout, and loved them all. Cursed was a different kind of story, but it had me on the edge of my seat through the whole book.

Ember McWilliams knows what it's like to die, she has and her gifted little sister bring her back. Ember is left with the touch that kills people. Her mom is depressed because the accident that killed Ember , killed her father. Her mother doesn't leave her room and Ember has to raise her sister on her own. Kids at school made fun of her for being different, and she is called so many names.  When one boy touches her, and dies , everything Changes.

Hayden Cromwell shows up and, Says she's gifted and special and makes her really like him. Until his father takes her, her sister and her mom to a house for "the gifted" . People like her sister. However Ember considers herself cursed. And so do the people at the house. They don't treat her with any kindness. Hayden's gift however cancels out others, and he can touch we though, through brief periods.  He works with Ember to control her gift.

Can she learn? And can She have a relationship with Hayden? And what happens when someone comes for them? Hayden finds out that she truly isn't cursed.
I enjoyed this book! Go check it out :)

I have spent every summer since I was ten years old with my father in London.  Every summer, since I was ten years old, has been uneventful and boring.

Until this year.

And this year, after a freak volcanic eruption strands me far from home, I have learned these things:

1.  I can make do with one outfit for three days before I buy         new clothes.
2.  If I hear the phrase, “You’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto,” even one more time, I might become a homicidal maniac.
3.  I am horribly and embarrassingly allergic to jellyfish.
4. I am in love with Dante Giliberti, who just happens to be the beautiful, sophisticated son of the Prime Minister of a Mediterranean paradise.
5.  See number four above.  Because it brings with it a whole slew  of problems and I’ve learned something from every one of them.

Let’s start with the fact that Dante’s world is five light-years away from mine.  He goes to black-tie functions and knows the Prime Minister of England on a first name basis.  I was born and raised on a farm in Kansas and wear cut-off jeans paired with cowboy boots.  See the difference?

But hearts don’t care about differences.  Hearts want what they want.  And mine just wants to be Dante’s girl.

My heart just might be crazy.

Courtney is totally awesome and is going to giveaway a SIGNED copy of Dante's Girl!

Independence

In the fourth and final installment, Maggie and Caleb must tie up all the loose ends of their lives and make a way to be together completely on their own. With everything that happened with Bish and Maggie's father, she's almost reluctant to move on and move out. And now she must figure out all of this...stuff...with Haddock. But of course, nothing can stay simple for the Jacobsons. Enemies who were thought to be dissolved have decided to not go down so easily. And old flames come calling for more than just Maggie. Caleb is torn between leading his family and personal wants. Maggie is torn between Caleb and being the leader of their people. But neither will let what they need most to be pushed to the wayside. They are determined to make it all work, design a plan toward destiny, and make everything right again for themselves and their family.

And then there's a wedding...

*deep sigh* As much as I was looking forward to reading Shelly’s final book to the Significance Series, I didn’t prepare myself for the bittersweatness of it. It’s like saying goodbye to friends that you know you are never going to see again, and that sucks! I can’t imagine writing a series of books and then being done.

This book is by far my favorite one of the series and not just because there’s a wedding, but because it shows the tremendous growth each character has. Not just Caleb and Maggie grow, but Bish and Jen, Kyle and Lynee (well Kyle doesn’t really grow up lol), but you get the idea! There’s so much happening with the clans and all the changes that Caleb and Maggie hope to bring to their world.

But with the good comes the bad, sadly. Though Marcus is now human he can’t get over his infatuation and well grudge with the Jacobson’s. You would think since he’s human he would let it go right? Well he doesn’t. But what does he do this time around? Does he accomplish what he set out to? Do Caleb and Maggie stop him? You’re going to have to read to find that out!

Then there’s the lovely Maggie, the Visionary, is she able to stop the vision she saw of Bish and Jen? How is she handling the responsibility? All we really want is to see Maggie and Caleb happy and married right? Well we all know there’s a wedding, but what else goes on? Nothing can be that easy right? Well Haddock wants to be a part of Maggie’s life, but does she let him? Does Jim know that he’s not Maggie’s biological father? So many questions are answered and then there’s more to added in too!

I can honestly say I love the ending of this book. So more than what I expected and am truly thrilled Shelly ended it this way, I could not be happier. Well actually I could, maybe I could find my Significant and we can umm mutualize!

-Dani

Ahhh Shelly Crane, I love you! Sad to see this series come to an end.  But so Happy For the HEA for the Jacobson's. can't wait for the movie!!

If you haven't read this series, stop here and go start.

I adore Caleb and Maggie. With the imprints returning (from the last book) all the families are headed home from London. But Beck and Ralph are missing a presumed dead. Maggie and Caleb and a few head back home for the services. However, Maggie gets a vision that they are alive. What happens when she finds them??

Marcus is up to messing with Maggie and Caleb. They are trying to stay on guard, register for classes and plan their Wedding! Also Caleb wants to tell his dad his plans for the future.

Can they do it all?? Will they end Marcus? So many people trying to get in their way.... And Can Caleb and Maggie find their own way as leaders?

Shelly did an awesome Job at wrapping up this series. It's one ill visit over and over!

The Witch's Curse

The Witch's Curse (Book 1.1) is an e-format prequel short story in the Legend of the Dreamer series that can be read before or after Light of the Moon (Book 1).

Before Kate met Calum in Light of the Moon, Magda met Samuel.

Magda cannot stop her heart from running rampant with the beating drum of love. Whenever her eyes find Samuel, she can feel the pull of strings so vividly alive against her heart. But for Magda, love goes against fate; her destiny as a witch forbids her to need anything but the dark binds of magic. Soon, the witch's curse begins to call to Magda. To deny her love for Samuel would be unthinkable, but to defy her destiny would be impossible. Before the curse can consume her, Magda must decide between Samuel and destiny, and her heart may beat too savagely for anyone to stop.

"I have to believe in love."-Magda

So here's the thing that I love most about David James... No matter what words he chooses to speak they all make you feel. They all make your heart break a little more when something sad happens, when a choice has to be made. But the most amazing thing is, no matter what the words say there's always and underlying meaning. I wasn't sure I was going to read this book, not because I didn't want to, but because it's a Novella and they usually always leaving me wanting to know more. However I did want to know more about Magda and Samuel, but I was satisfied with what was told. Do I have questions or wonders? Of course but isn't that what makes a good book, good? Not knowing everything leaves something to the imagination, though David's imagination is amazing, I like to leave it up to my own to fill in the day to day's with Magda and Samuel.

"We are the same, Magda. You are my star, and I am yours." -Samuel

I fell in love with Calum in Light of the Moon, even Kate held a place close to my heart.. being honest I didn't care much for Magda. After reading The Witch's Curse made me understand her a whole lot more. Have I mentioned that I cried? Yea well I am a huge sap when it comes to characters in books. I form this bond somehow with all the character's I read about and when something sad happens to them I feel it to my core. That's what makes a great writer though. If they can convey the feelings to you, the reader, than they did their job.

"Our love is infinite."-Samuel

So David James congratulations on achieving something some people only dream of. You are able to convey to your readers what your characters are feeling and that's what makes you an amazing force in the world of literature. I can't wait to read what you write next.

I have to admit I highlighted so much in this Novella. lol. So many phrases spoke to me, touched me, but one of the best one's I have to say that hit home to me was this one:

"How can this world be all there is, Samuel? The sky is so vast, so infinite in darkness at night. How can there be nothing beyond what we can see?"-Magda

Sometimes we forget the possibilities of more than us being here. What if David is right? What if the stars hold the secret to something much more vast than we can comprehend? What if we are all just shells of something much bigger and greater? Maybe thats the message or lesson we have to learn. We are all but single stars shinning in a vast sky, but when we come together form constellations that mean so much more as a group, united.

-Dani

David James is a genius with words! Loved Light of The Moon, and the Witches Curse was spectacular!! Love and curses never go together, they always end in heartbreak.

We learn more of the burden Magda Carries and what she gave up in this short story. And Samuel, more men like him please.

David is so poetic and beautiful in his writing that I felt I was sitting there and feeling the sadness with Magda. If this sets us for the feelings in the sequel to Light of the Moon, I know I can't wait!

Teaser Tuesday-April

So since we had Logan last week, I figured I would share some April this week.  The first time you met April it was a serious scene so I figure I'd give you something a little more fun lol. So I hope you enjoy and can't wait to be able to share the whole book with you!

He’s standing perfectly still in the doorway of the new age room staring at me. I wonder how long he’s been there and if he was the reason I was being called into that room to begin with. I’m still frozen in place, debating if he’s actually there or if my imagination is playing tricks on me. ‘Enchanted’ by Taylor Swift is playing in my ears as if this moment wasn’t enough without the lyrics to match what I’m feeling. Neither one of us is making a move, just content at staring into each others eyes. Too intense, the air around us is becoming unbearable to breath, but I don’t want to be the first to  break the stare.  That’s when his gaze drops to my lips and my teeth bite into the side of them. He pushes himself off the wall and slowly makes his way to me. Like I’m the prey he’s stalking. He’s moving with a feline grace I’ve never seen before and the instinct to retreat is paving its way through my muscles. Not because I’m scared but because I want to play.

I take a step back and he stops. He turns his head to the side trying to figure out what I’m doing. I take another step back, then another, not removing my eyes from him. He starts mirroring my steps. I’m starting to get excited with the idea of being chased, what the hell is wrong with me? I don’t do this cat and mouse game. Yet here I am backing away from him as he watches me, slowly moving forward. One of his steps matches two of mine. He’s practically in front of me when I step back again to be flushed with the wall.
So I hope you love April as much as I do and feel free to leave comments or whatever :)
xoxo -Dani
