Deviation Blog Tour and Giveaway - Heather Hildenbrand

It's time for the Deviation blog tour and we can't be more excited!! It's an amazing book and if you haven't read Imitation, which is book one, then go grab it! :) At the end of the post look for the giveaway!

Deviation, book 2 in the Clone Chronicles

Protect. Obey. Sacrifice.
These words are the mantra of my existence. I’m not sure if it’s Titus Rogen inspiring my desire to go against what I am or my own DNA deviating. All I can think is how Titus will look when he meets his end. It trumps even my wish for freedom. In this moment, I want nothing more than to watch the life bleed from Titus’s body. And I want it at my own hands.
Titus. The Creator.
I stare at my palms. Strength aside, I wonder if I’m capable of taking a life. A human life; one with a soul. And I wonder if that isn’t easier than taking the life of an Imitation. At least humans have souls that live on. What do I have after this? Where will I go? Back into a syringe? Will Titus recycle me? Or will I be lost forever down a lab drain?
We don’t deserve that.
We don’t deserve him.
Deserving and receiving are so very different here. And I am beginning to understand, to beat someone in this world, I‘ll have to play in it.

I totally loved Deviation! I was excited to see what would happen with Ven and Linc and everyone involved in what Titus Rogen has planned.  Titus is still having Ven play his daughter but also he is still a total douche.  I really don't like him.  So Heather did amazing is making us not like him, it gets worse in this book.  Linc and Ven are still together but still have to be careful because Titus watches everything they do.  He tries to separate them in ways but they always find a way to talk.  I love the mystery there.  Linc is one determined guy! Titus has Mealine in a cage and uses Ven to talk to her, which doesn't work very well.  Daniel is also down there and she gets thrown in his cell.  You really want to pay attention here.  Is Daniel Nuts or on their side?
Can Ven and Linc keep their plan to help all the imitations a secret?  Even through Titus knows of their relationship, can they sneak moments?  It's hard but they do and I love the tender sweetness.  Titus takes Ven back to Twig City and what she see's shocks her.  What he does to imitations that do not work out for his purpose makes her sick.  And then she sees herself, or an imitation or is it the REAL Raven?  And how many of her or imitations are there? That's my question.  Heather Hildenbrand takes you on an emotional ride in this book.  You are questioning every situation and every turn.  And when the book ends........ you still are questioning leaving you wanting more.  I loved Linc more and more in this book and Ven is getting braver.  Daniel grows on me even more and the character that makes me laugh the most? Obadiah.  He makes me smile and giggle and want to talk to him.  He's a great friend to Ven.  I am sure you want me to tell you more about what happen in the book but I won't.  Because it's that good and filled with so much that just one hint of anything else will give it away!  Seriously go Get it! Read Imitation fist though!

I was thrilled when Heather Hildenbrand asked us to participate in the Deviation blog tour. However I must say that I need the next book and I need it NOW! Lol but seriously I do need the next book. Now it's been a while since I read Imitaion so of course I had to go reread it and be ready for Deviation, HOLY MOTHER EFFING CRAZY! I absolutely loved this book. I lived, breathed and dream this book. There's something about the possibilities of this happening right now that intrigues me.

Ven is amazing. She grows so much in this book and is finally starting to understand the emotions that are involved with being an authentic. Now some of those emotions she might not want but it's a part of being who she is. Of what she's becoming, one thing is certain, this version of Raven is different, and maybe that'll make all the difference. One of the things I love about Heather's writing style is that she always keeps you guessing. I was literally on the edge of my seat throughout this book, I couldn't tell if the bad guys are still the bad guys, and if the good guys are really good. The one person that remained constant was Titus. He's an absolute idiot. I don't like him one bit and in the same sense he intrigues me. Whats his motive behind the "Raven's" and why does he only threaten Ven when he could easily terminate her for her disobedience? Is there something more there than just being the creator? I think so and I honestly can't wait to see what's in store next for this amazing series.

I absolutely adore Linc, that hasn't changed one bit, if anything I've grown more fond of him. Obadiah as well. Well rounded character's are not in short supply in any book written by Heather Hildenbrand, Deviation is no exception. There's plenty of emotions to keep you occupied page after page and enough action to keep you guessing. The only request I have is that I need the next book, I hate waiting to see what's going to happen next. If you haven't already picked up your copy of this book, you need to do so now, and then come back and let us know what your thoughts are!

Look what you can enter to win!!

Desecration Blog Tour

In a hidden world of wizards where only men hold the power of magic, one girl arises with the power to change everything, if she isn’t killed first…

Adriana Victoriana Evangelista (Addie), daughter to the High Chancellor of the Wizard’s Council, has always been the perfect wizard girl. She never questions why men possess magical powers and women have no power at all, magical or otherwise. Male wizards blend into the modern human world, leading huge corporations while wizard women are sequestered away.
On her sixteenth birthday, Addie discovers she possesses magic. Under wizard law, she is a desecration. An ancient prophecy surrounds the emergence of a girl magic-wielder, the wizard queen, who is destined to bring about the downfall of the wizard-kin.
Addie has long had a forbidden crush on a human boy who lives in the wizard stronghold, Rory Devlin. As she delves deeper into the dangerous mysteries surrounding her own destiny, she suspects Rory might be more than just human.

Addie’s fate sends her straight into the path of a powerful and evil sorcerer, but the worst danger of all may come from right inside her own home.

It's been a long time since I've read a YA Paranormal book, no reason other than getting caught up with other genres. When I saw the cover and blurb for this book, I knew I had to jump on the tour. SO freaking glad I did. I aboslutely ADORE this book and I need the next book, so if you are reading this Hadley Holt, can I get that next book pretty please! Reading this book reminded me why I love Paranormal YA so much. It's more than just a love story, its building the world, a wizard world, and Hadley Holt executed it perfectly.
Addie is turning 16 alongside her twin brother Zarius... don't like the kid, but we all have our evil counter parts right? Without giving too much a way, I'll just say that this group of wizard-kin has things barbaric. Only men having power and being able to go out into the human world, didn't care much for the attitudes of these men, but what can you do? They hold all the power....or do they? Addie has power, great power, but in gaining that power she's put in danger. A prophecy foretells of a Wizard QUEEN and what she must do. What is it you ask? Trust me when I say that you are going to want to read it. I completely fell in love with this story down to the individual familiars that Addie receives and the first kiss with Rory.
Hadley Holt had my attention from the moment I started and kept the attention for days after I've finished. Addie's friendship with Izzy and Hugo remind me of the friendships I had when I was in school. It's refreshing in a weird way to see the dynamics between all of them. Then there's the forbidden attraction with the 'human' they call Rory. Then again, maybe he's not so human, and if he's not a human what exactly is he? Just when you think you have everything figured out and where it's going to lead, Hadley Holt will leave you guessing, on the edge of your seat begging for the next book to see what happens because it's far from over... if anything it just begun. I can't wait to see what Addie, Rory, Hugo, and Izzy are up to in the next installment of this series.

It's been a while since I read a YA paranormal book. When Dani suggested this one I was like okay. I'm happy to say that Hadley Holt hit Desecration out of the ball park! I loved the interaction between Addie and her BFF's Izzy and Hugo. Addie is a twin with her brother Zarius. Who is a huge jerk. They are part of a predominant wizard family. But only the boys and men do the magic. It's their 16th birthday. Well the boys get something then. However some changes happen in Addie too. Can she keep the magic flowing in her from her parents and family? Her friends Hugo and Izzy are by her side. And the Amazing choice of familiar (animal that's assists the wizard) is just so fun.

Then there is Roary. He and Addie are friends and you can tell they like each other. However, he's human and they shouldn't interact. But is he entirely human or not?

This book is Fabulous!!!! Can Addie keep her magic a secret? And what of Roary? You'll have to read to find out!! I can't wait for more!!!

Hadley Holt Bio:

Hadley Holt, author of paranormal, and fantasy YA (Young Adult) has always loved to write. She also nurtures an incurable fascination with all things supernatural and fantastical. From a young age, she imagined stories about dragons, wizards, witches, ghosts, shape-shifters, vampires, and other magical creatures. As life often does, it blessed Hadley with family - a hunky husband and amazing children, and with family came a rewarding career. Hadley spent many years in the not-so-magical world of finance and mortgage banking, but the stories were always there in the back of her mind, demanding to be set free.
Thanks to the housing market crash, Hadley finally realized her dreams. She now breathes life into her magical tales of reluctant young heroes finding their inner power to stand up against terrible creatures and even more terrible odds.
