Pyxis

Corinne lives an average teenage life working at her dad’s cafe, hanging out with her best friend, and trying to forget a falling-out with her almost-boyfriend Mason. Things take a strange turn when she uses her late grandmother’s food dyes for a bake sale, and her customers suddenly find her irresistibly alluring. Then she discovers she and Mason are haunted by the same dreams of a dark force that consumes everything in its path.

Pursued by shadowy figures and a crazy woman with secrets from the past, Corinne must find out who her grandmother really was. In her quest to unravel her family’s history, she learns she is destined to protect this world--and the dark world of her dreams. She races to find the answers she seeks before her nightmares break free.

So I was totally confused at first when I started reading this book, but it could have been because my attention was being drawn all over the place…What I will say is once I got past all my distractions I seriously got hooked! I was so mad every single time I had to put the book down, Lol; I just had to get through it! I finally did and OMG I cannot wait till we read book 2!

So Corrine’s family is hiding a secret that she stumbles upon when she made cakes for her school. Something innocent shouldn’t bring complications right? Well Corrine and her friend Angeline stumble across this list that has their names as well as Masons. Mason is Corrine’s friend/crush that has been in Africa the last 5 months.  Their relationship is a little awkward but you’ll have to read the book to find out why.

The crazy thing is Corrine and Mason are sharing the same dreams….or should I say nightmares. He returns back to Tapestry to find out the three of them belong to this Tapestry Lake Convergence and Pyramidal Union. With a letter left behind by her deceased grandmother stating Corrine is the next Pyxis, Mason is a shield, and her friend Angeline is a guardian….and that the nightmares she’s having are warnings. What’s going to happen and what exactly is this Union? You’re going to have to read to figure that all out, piece of advice is have book 2, Alight, ready to read next!!

So I recommended to Dani to Read Pyxis. Let's just say she loved it! I know I did! I read it A WHILE ago. So my memory is Fuzzy!! Loved the whole union and how they are connected and the list. The book keeps you hooked around every turn. Corrine, well I can't wait to see what will become of her as the Pyxis and what will happen with her and mason. I'm ready for book 2
