So Nyrae Dawn kicks some major ace! Like seriously I love
her work, she always seems to amaze me and keep me on my toes. Just when
you think you cant possibly love someones work any more than you
already do, you go and read another book and sigh and fall in love all
over again.
Cheyenne has her own set of issues, but the way the author writes doesn't make it seem far fetched or fake. That's one of the things I love most about Nyrae's work, she uses real issues, things that are going on in real people's lives which makes the character's more real. Cheyenne is an amazing female character who breaks the bounds in which we are accustomed to. Yes, she was a dancer in high school, yes she has mommy issues, yes she puts up the front that she is tough, but don't we all? Her front works pretty well up until she meets Colt.
Colt has his issues as well and the last thing he is looking for is a relationship, but sometimes when your least expecting something that's when it finds you. Colt has this idea that he's going to be just like his father, so why fight the inevitable? His mothers really sick and he's put in a situation that he doesn't see any other way, until Cheyenne enters the picture. They play this Charade, but the lines are blurring and being able to tell what's real and what's a charade is starting to surface.
I'm not one for spoilers so I think that's a good stopping point, just know I recommend an extended period of time because you're not going to want to put this book down, it's an attention grabber from the first page! I absolutely love how Nyrae can capture the male POV, don't get me wrong I love her female POV as well, but I can read and re read all her male POVs over and over again and never get tired of them!

I expected greatness when I saw this book was out because it was it was
written by Nyrae Dawn. I got what I expected. Cheyenne is a girl who has
not had the easiest up bringing. Her mom left her at an early age.
Now she has moved to college to follow her boyfriend who is already
there. Only to find that he is in the act of cheating on her. His
reasoning is So Stupid. Cheyenne decides to enlist the help of Colt, a
bad boy, to make Greg jealous.
Colt is mean and tough.... but that is only to cover that he is being ripped apart from his mom dying of Cancer. He goes along with Cheyenne's "Charade" because she's cute and he needs the money.
Little do these two know that they really need each other! I loved this story! Will Colt's and Cheyenne's Charade lead to a deeper connection? Will they help each other feel and lift the masks off the Charade they both have been playing? You need to read this beautiful story to find out! I love Nyrae's characters so much that I always want to know how they are later in life! Hint Hint Nyrae! ;)
