New
Release: Kissing the Devil by Shannon Eckrich
There are three rules in the small town of Leeds
Point, New Jersey:
Never stay out after dark.
Never go into the Pineys.
And, more than anything, never speak of the Jersey
Devil.
Serenity Cantwell knows all too well the Jersey
devil exists. The recurring nightmares of his glowing green eyes make their way
into her dreams, causing her to relive her encounter with the beast every
single night. But as people she knows start to disappear, and end up dead, in
the middle of the Pine Barrens, she pushes away her fear of the forest in
search of answers.
What she finds will change her life forever. Secrets
will be revealed, a curse will be set in motion, and friendships will be
tested. But most of all, love could prove to be deadly.

*Review*
This is the first book I've read from Shannon Eckrich and I have to say I'm intrigued by the possibilities of this series. I think the concept of this book is promising and it definitely had my attention throughout the book, but at the same time I kept feeling like it was a little rushed. It was as if I was missing something. The relationships between the main characters developed quickly where as the friendship Serenity had with Jezebel didn't feel real to me. I felt like they were more friends than best friends.
I did like Sam right away. He held that mystery that you knew was going to come into play in a big way. The relationship between Sam and Serenity also felt rushed, but then again it's a paranormal story so instant connection is possible. I would have liked to see more into their attraction before everything was revealed though.
Even though I had a few issues, I cannot wait to see what happens next. If you are looking for a quick YA Paranormal read than I suggest you take a chance on this book and then let me know what you thought about it.
