Capstone Review

It's supposed to stink. That's what Cusps do.

The Ianua, Nalena and Garrett's own community, have welcomed them back by charging them as traitors and chucking them into the Hotel Celare's slammer.
And outside the fortress walls, it's no better.

The Cusp is at full-boil as the world finally surrenders to The Fury's lifestyle. Looting, riots, murders—every kind of crime has become the norm—and The Fury want to make it all permanent. They might even succeed, now that they've nabbed all thirteen of the Ianua's Cornerstones.

To preserve mankind, the only chance the Ianua have left is to beat The Fury to the Earth's Core and somehow trigger the Reset.

Like that's easy.

There's no manual on how to activate a Reset. Nobody even knows if there’s an actual Core to the Earth.

Shoot, it could be one big myth; an epic waste of effort.
But the Addo thinks there is one last hope.
Maybe.

So long as someone is willing to sacrifice everything to be mankind's long shot.

As soon as I received Capstone I was… sad. I didn’t want to read it, because I knew the moment I started it, I wouldn’t be able to put it down. That’s totally what happened and when I finished I was extremely sad. That’s the bad thing about a series for me, I get so attached to these characters, it’s like Garrett and Nalena are really my friends and saying goodbye just completely and totally sucks. I hate it, but Misty ended it beautifully.

Capstone picked up where Jamb left off and let me tell you it is beyond crazy! Garrett and Nalena aren’t sure who they can trust and the normal way of the Inuana isn’t the normal way anymore. Rules are being broken, trust is being tested, and secrets are being held. So what does that mean for Garrett, Nalena, and the rest of their family? I have to say that no matter what goes on, the supporting characters are phenomenal. I still adore Zane, he just cracks me up and I’m so glad he was present in this book. I was worried something was going to happen to him and the gang with the massive action that was going down at the end of Jamb.

Massive amounts of ups and downs in this book. I was so excited that everyone was alive, worried about who could be trusted, then thrilled and then terrified. I was ready to blow up Misty through Facebook, Twitter, and Email. You’ll know why when you get to that part in the book and you’re going to want to do the same, just know everything will work out. One of the biggest reasons why I love this series is because of the message between the lines, well at least the message I received. Nothing is always as it seems, sometimes we have to have FAITH that everything will work out and trust in those worthy of our trust to have our backs.

I cried a little in the last few chapters and practically bawled when I finished the book. I’m so not ready for Garrett and Nalena’s story to be over.  I need more of them, of all of them. Thank you Misty for writing an amazing series, one that I will definitely revisit often.
<3 Dani

This was a bitter sweet read for me. I have been a fan of Misty Provencher's Cornerstone series from the beginning. Having the series come to an end was like, awww no more books. No more Garrett and Nalena. And just when you think, ya I know how it will end, like most books do. Nope Misty has a surprise that will make you smile or make you say "I'm okay with that" like I did.

If you haven't read the other books in this series, stop right here. Go read them now!!

Capstone picks up right where Jamb left off. Everyone is back but who is good and who is bad?? Nali knows she can't trust anyone but Garrett. They are all put in cells. She has no idea where the Addo is, if Milo is ok, if Garrett is ok and why can't she figure this out? Well the Veritas play a big park in this book. Nok tunnels in to see Nali in her cell.  She goes through and gets to Garrett. They soon learn who they can trust through winks. Everyone from their area is playing a part! When they are forced into a binding , which they want, there are some awesome hot scenes from Garrett. He's amazingly sweet with Nali. What will they Learn about each other when they are linked? And before this happens Addo gives Nali a mission. Will she have to give up Garrett for it? Nali grows so much in this book. I will say that every time I thought I knew what was happening I was proven wrong. It's a journey.... Both in reading and for the characters. Nali and Garrett learn to trust each other in new ways that I love!

I'm sad to see this come to an end but hope to see maybe more? Otherwise it was a great wrap up by Misty Provencher.

BOOK SUMMARY:
When 22-year-old Summer Stafford’s parents split halfway through her senior year at college, Summer’s world is rocked. Everything she thought she knew—heck, everything she thought she wanted for her own life—feels like a lie. The truth is love is a risk. And the true kind, the kind that lasts, might even be a fairy tale.
Reeling from the divorce, Summer derails her own future by breaking up with her parent-approved boyfriend and giving up her lifelong plans for a big-city career. She moves back home, business degree in hand. Dad needs her to fill the gaps her mother left behind; Summer needs to find who she is outside of the cookie-cutter life that failed so miserably for her parents.
Ford O’Neal’s future involves one person: himself. He doesn’t have a permanent address and he definitely doesn’t commit. To a place or a person. Raised by hippies, he plans just far enough ahead to secure his next stop, this one landing him at a work-study program at Heritage Plantation where he can grow his own herbal and medicinal creations.
Summer is gorgeous and smart and fun to be with, the perfect way to pass five months. It won’t be love—Ford’s got too many things to accomplish, too many places to go, before he settles down. Yet Summer pulls him in, challenging him to rethink his own philosophy.
When Ford’s five months are up, each of them must decide if love is really worth the risk.

Soul Survivor Blog Stop

Hailee Mai Hart is just a simple, normal girl. Or so she thought. When she left her one-horse town for a college education in the
big city, she never could've imagined what awaited her.

She's quickly thrown into a world filled with angels, danger, and a curse ... her curse. Come to find out, she's not so simple after
all. She's actually the last of her kind, and the fate of the world rests on her shoulders. She has one chance to save Earth, and it
all comes down to one choice: Light or Darkness. What is right and what is wrong is all a matter of perspective, which leaves
her heart dangerously tangled. No matter which path she takes people will die, and that's just not an option.

Will she be able to save everyone, or will she be the Soul Survivor?

Michelle Nicole is not only an amazing writing but an awesome person. She’s one of the sweetest people I have ever met and one of the most helpful one too. When I practically begged, yes I totally did and not afraid to admit it, to be one of Michelle’s beta readers I was really excited! I was not disappointed.

Hailee thought she was a normal, simple, farm girl out to experience college for the first time, but she’s totally not. Finding herself in a bad area searching for something she runs into some trouble. Cue Alex. Alex comes to her rescue and Hailee is smitten. From that moment on everything she thought was normal is going to be completely turned upside down. Starting her first friendship with Alex, then to a relationship, things are starting to look up for Hailee… or so she thought.

Alex knows things about Hailee. Things that Hailee doesn’t know yet. See the problem? I absolutely fell in love with Alex. His protectiveness over Hailee, how sweet he is, but something seemed off. When Amitel, don’t really care for her much but she does grow on me later on, comes into the picture I figured out what that something was. You want to know? Read it lol! This is when everything starts to unravel and makes me question Alex’s true feelings. Hell after finishing the book, I’m still questioning everything.

By now we know Alex and Amitel aren’t quite human and the world Hailee thought she knew, is completely blown apart and she’s the center of attention. Alex has a duty to protect Hailee, but when the Darkness comes to stir up drama, can he protect her? The Darkness AKA Seth is sinfully hot. Like standing in his presence will make you faint, but he’s supposed to be the bad guy right? When Hailee starts dreaming about Seth… well having nightmares that is, were does she stand? Torn between Alex and Seth, Light and Dark, Peace and Destruction… how do you decided?

What would you do if you just found out that you are the only one who could save humanity, but at a hefty price, could you do it? Michelle Nicole wrote a magnificent tale of the age old good vs evil… but with a twist. What happens when the ones you thought are good are the ones gunning for your life? Who do you trust, who can you trust?

I was worried about Hailee falling for two guys, but Michelle wrote in a way where you love both the guys either way. I won’t say who Hailee ends up with, I mean after all this is only book one. I will say that once you start it’s going to be hard to put down and the twist at the end is going to have you begging for the second book. This is an awesome debut novel from the lovely Michelle Nicole and I cannot wait to read more of the books from this author!
<3 Dani

WOW..... what can I say but WOW.  Soul Survivor by Michelle Nicole hooked me and kept me guessing and wondering through the whole book.  I even at times felt conflicted. Hailee was a girl that didn’t make friends easily, and didn’t have too many. She found herself wondering around a place that she felt led too and wasn’t sure why.  Until she bumped into this hot guy named Alex.  Who quickly became her friend.  At first I was like, this is a little weird, what is happening here.  I kept reading because I thought, wow this Alex guy was a little too good to be true. They quickly became friends and got close.  I was like awwwww I love this so cute.  Then in steps Ami, Alex’s betrothed?  What??? Say what??  Okay so Alex isn’t human. He’s  Guardian Angel.  I was floored and felt dismayed like Hailee when she was lied to.  This does’t change their relationship though.  Alex is an awesome guy, well he is an Angel.
Darkness is out to destroy Hailee because she is special.  Special how?  Well you need to find out.  But who said Darkness can be cute as well?  Well yes..... He can. Seth.... I did not hate him from the get go.  But this is where I was conflicted.  She was drawn to Seth but she has a choice to make. Light or Dark?  So what does this mean? Seth or Alex?  But Alex is betrothed! You see where I was conflicted.  STAY with the story though, you will understand as I did.  Hailee reads Seth dead on and I trusted her instincts to the end. Please do the same!
Michelle Nicole has written a book that is now a favorite of mine. I cried and didn’t want to put it down to then end! You might be saying, Christina Tell me more.  NOPE go get it and read it!  I am so glad Dani told me to give it a go.  I knew nothing about it. Just picked it up and read.  Now that you know, go do the same!

TIFFANY KING... stops by today!

So we all know how I absolutely adore Tiffany King right? Well when KP over at Ink Slinger sent out invites to host a spotlight for Tiffany on our blog, you know I jumped at it. Seriously, I totally jumped, and maybe squealed a little bit. Lol. Anyways if you haven't checked out her books you are seriously missing out!! Check out ALL OF HER BOOKS like now... in fact if you have a Kindle go HERE or if you have Nook go HERE but today we are featuring Tiffany's first NA No Attachments, you have to read this book. Beyond awesome you can check out our reviews HERE

Ashton Garrison walked away from her current life to escape the one thing she is unwilling to face. She knows her decision may be selfish, but in the end, leaving will be far less painful for everyone. She now has one goal: live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. What Ashton doesn't count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan.

Nathan Lockton specializes in locating a mark. He's done it over and over again--no attachments and no emotion necessary. What he thought was a routine lost and found job has forced Nathan to deal with something he has always ignored--his feelings. He's never fallen for a target, and yet, he's never met anyone like Ashton. Now deep in a dilemma, Nathan must decide to follow his heart or complete the job he was hired to do.

Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: if the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?

Because we Love Tiffany so much we just had to interview her!! So here you go!!

Hey Tiffany thanks for meeting with us! We absolutely love you and are so thrilled to be featuring you on our blog! (Pink = Dani, Purple = Christina)

So I have to admit Im a total fan-girl, Ive read and absolutely LOVED every single one of your books. As you might know, Wishing for Someday Soon is my favorite. It holds a special place in my heart because of some experiences in my life. Out of your books that youve written, published or WIPs, which is your favorite?
Picking my favorite is very hard for me. Each story holds a special place in my heart. Miss Me Not is a story I'm very proud of because of the subject matter and all the positive feedback I have received. My unreleased manuscript, Misunderstandings has also become a favorite for me. It is the follow up to No Attachments and tells the story of Brittni. I really connected with her character. I wish I could give you a release date, but that is in the hands of my agent. I'm also a little partial to my newest paranormal book Jordyn and the Caverns of Gloom. Jordyn is one of my favorite characters. I love her attitude.

Most artists (yes I include writers in this category) use personal experiences to influence their art. Do you?
Every one of my stories has been influenced by some sort of experience in my life. It could have been as simple as the way a person eats all the way up to a real life-changing experience that impacted either me or someone I know. I don't know any author that doesnt draw upon their own experiences when writing. It's what makes us who were are, writer or not.

If there was one thing you hoped your readers got out of your books, what would it be?
The biggest thing I want readers to get out of my stories is hope. Yes, the stories may deal with tougher issues, but in the end, (spoiler alert coming) I'm a happily ever after kind of girl. I will always give my readers some kind of closure because my books are about how the characters persevere through their obstacles.

Whats your favorite part about being an author?
First, being able to actually get the stories in my head down to paper. Writing for me is like solving a maze. The fun part is that I can take whatever direction I want to get to the end. Secondly, I love interacting with people I have met as an author. I am so humbled by strangers that contact me and have enjoyed my work. I am living a dream come true.

What do you find easier to write?
Contemporary is what I love most, but I also enjoy the challenges of writing paranormal. Building an imaginary world is fun, but also exhausting because it is tougher to maintain consistency throughout the story.

Where do you gain your inspiration?
My daughter was the inspiration for my first book. Now, it's not only my family, but my readers and fans who also inspire me each and every day. Everyone is so kind and supportive and I feel truly blessed. Also, I get inspired by all the extremely talented writers I have had the pleasure of meeting. They push me to continue striving to improve.

Are you a planner or write as it comes to you?
For the most part, I'm a pantser. I don't really outline anything before I start a new story, but I do already know how it will begin, where I would like it to progress and how it will end. The rest kind of fills itself in as the story unfolds in front of me. Often, I'll see the next part of the story in my head before I go to bed at night which makes me anxious to wake in the morning so I can dive in.

It seems that Contemporary Romance is taking center stage in the book industry right now, do you worry about how your paranormal books are going to do?
I'm a big fan of both genres, so I feel like I can dabble in both as the market continues to change. As a writer, I never want to limit myself to one genre. I especially want to continue to try and write outside of my comfort zone in order to improve.

Speaking of Paranormal & Contemporary Romance. Most of your books are YA, but you started branching out into NA with No Attachments. Do you prefer one to the other now that youve written both?
This ties into the question above. Writing NA took me out of my YA comfort zone, but I really didnt see much difference between the genres. Too me, NA is just taking the next step with characters into adulthood and introducing the new problems that life can throw at a person in their early twenties when they are no longer under the protective umbrella of their parents. Both genres are enjoyable to write and I look forward to continuing with both.

Can we expect to see more NA titles from you, possibly some paranormal NA?
Definitely yes to more NA titles. My agent already has Misunderstandings, the sequel to No Attachments, right now. As for paranormal NA, absolutely if the right story came to mind.

I used to think people were crazy when they said their characters talk to them inside their head, but now that Ive had that happen to me, Im totally on board the crazy train. Do youre characters talk to you?
I don't necessarily hear them talking to me in my head, but their personalities are definitely persistent throughout the writing. I know how they will react in situations and what they will say. Most times, when I'm trying to sleep at night, the story will continue to run through my head.

Is there anything in the works that you would like to share with us?
I currently finished up three projects. Two of them, a YA contemporary romance, and the NA sequel to No Attachments are with my agent at the moment, but my newest release is the sequel to Jordyn. Book two is called Jordyn and the Caverns of Gloom and released on Aug. 15, 2013.
