From the moment they met, Jenna knew Reece would break her heart, but she never dreamed it would happen like this. Jenna is left shattered and broken. When life becomes too painful to deal with and she feels completely alone, there’s only one person to help her pick up the pieces and move on. The one person she doesn’t want to turn to. The one person she promised to stay away from. Tyler.

Hey Danielle, I want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to sit down and chat with me. I have to say I loved For Always and was so excited to read Heart Waves and loved them both. Then Breaking Waves was released and I seriously devoured it in a matter of hours. So if I get a little fangirly just excuse me *laughs*
Thank you very much for having me. I am so excited to be here! Excited, and extremely honored!

So the basic question… What made you decided to become a writer?
Aside from the obvious-I love to write- what else do you do when you have conversations between random people that don’t really exist running through your head all day long? I think I was born with a book in my hand. I loved and devoured books from my earliest years. I loved words and books and using words to develop ideas. It was all a very cool concept to me since first grade.

For Always is definitely different than the Heart Waves series but both focuses on love. Is there a particular reason you chose to turn to Romeo and Juliet’s story for Heart waves?
Wow, what a great question! Yes, there is. When I think of love at first sight, I think of Romeo and Juliet. When I think of a love so deep and scary that’s also wonderful and terrifying, I think of Romeo and Juliet. And since we all know how that story ended, what would eat away at a character more than the fear she found her soul mate, her one true love, but the relationship has been pre-destined to end tragically?

Romeo and Juliet is a tragic yet epic love story, can you tell us if it’s going to be the same for Jenna and Reece?
I can promise that Reece and Jenna will not commit suicide.  I can’t promise more than that! ;-)

Tyler comes into play more in Breaking Waves… I have to say I’m not sure if I trust him fully… but my opinions aside will we learn more about bad boy Tyler?
I think we start to see a different side of Tyler in Breaking Waves. He is a very complex character, and such a pest. He has a mind of his own and rarely behaves the way I’d like him to. That being said, Tyler has a lot of pain and is very torn, but deep down I believe he is a diamond smothered by an outer layer of thick, hard stone.

What other projects are you working on?
Aside from the final book in the Heart Waves series, I am also working on a single title NA Contemporary Romance.  This book is a tuff stuff novel that deals with date rape and the aftermath.  Carly Cavanough is left battered, her trust betrayed by everyone but the boy she’s been infatuated with since the first day of high school, Ryan Crowley. After Ryan finds Carly, he does all he can to help her move on and regain control of her life. I’m very excited about this book.
I must say that I’m excited too!

Most people say they need quiet to write, I know I don’t I need to have music playing when I write or read. What about you? Do you need quiet or does music help?
Honestly it depends on what I’m writing. I listened to music all the way through For Always and Heart Waves. Very different music. My For Always playlist had a lot of love songs; old love songs, new love songs, songs about unrequited love, I always knew you were the one type of love songs.  Heart Waves was very upbeat, happy, party music. For the first half of Breaking Waves I listened to the most depressing playlist ever, and then I needed absolute silence. That was a first for me. I’ve never written before without any noise.

Speaking of music, I heard you had a hand in writing a few songs lyrics. Take My Hand, and Goodbye I believe are the songs. How did that feel?
Yes, Goodbye and Take my Hand are the names of the songs. The whole song writing is still very surreal to me. Some years ago, Charlotte Doreen Small asked me to write lyrics for her and I thought she was joking. I didn’t know how to write lyrics, I wrote novels and when I was younger poetry, but songs? When I finally provided her with something I was certain she’d pass on, I was shocked that within a few weeks she had bare bones samples of both songs.

That’s so cool! Do you still write songs or poems?
Not really. If something strikes a chord in me where I feel the need or desire to write a poem I would, but I haven’t in a long time.

If there was one thing you would tell us, the readers, what would it be?
I don’t know if I am capable of expressing how much you mean in my life. Maybe you’ve heard these words before, they certainly aren’t original, but they are heartfelt and sincere. On a personal level, I have had some incredible highs and lows over the last year. The highs have been because of you. Because you’ve dropped me a line to tell me you read one of my books and you enjoyed it, because you got excited when you heard about my next release. Without your love and support, the lows would have felt much lower and much lonelier. So I’d like to say thank you for being you!

Thank you so much Danielle for meeting with me and I cannot wait for the new NA Contemporary Romance, it sounds like it’s going to be amazing! OK readers if you haven’t picked up your copy of Breaking Waves do so now! Also don’t forget to read all the way through to the end… there might be a surprise for you!

So one thing I have to say about Danielle Sibarium is she knows how to make me cry. I became a fan of hers when I came across For Always and I absolutely fell in love with Jordan and Stephanie. I related to Stephanie in some ways that made me just feel that character and like Steph I fell in LOVE with Jordan. So when I found out that she had another book out, Heart Waves, I bought it without a second thought. It’s different from For Always in a good way. So at the end of Heart Waves, Danielle left me with questions, lots of them. Is Jenna and Reece really going to end up like Romeo & Juliet? Who the hell is this Tyler guy? What’s Reece hiding? What’s going on between Reece and Tyler that he has to warn Jenna to stay away from him??

Questions upon questions I hoped were going to be answered in Breaking Waves… some are answered but by those being answered in only fueled more questions. *sigh* The thing is that’s what makes a good book…the questions, the constant wonder on what’s behind the next door or who else is going to make an appearance and totally blow everything you thought you knew out of the water. I knew from the first page that this book was going to break me. Hell I knew it was going to break me with the short teasers Danielle would post on FB or Twitter but the diehard fan in me pushed through and sucked it up… I was crying like a baby more than once starting around page 15ish. Why you ask well you’re going to have to read it to find out because I don’t like spoilers!

Let’s just say something major and when I say major I mean MAJOR goes down. An example of what had me balling, like seriously ugly crying that I had to pause for like 10 minutes to clean myself up and calm down in order for me to continue….

“I love you!” he spoke through clenched teeth when he pulled his mouth off mine. “I will always, always love you. Just like Romeo and Juliet.”

Seriously Reese absolutely killed me with this….dead. So while I’m on the subject of Reece. I LOVE him seriously LOVE him. He may have a past and might be hiding something but he is the sweetest boy and he absolutely loves Jenna. There’s no question about that.

Now Jenna….*sigh* Danielle I absolutely love you but Jenna got on my nerves in this book. I felt like she wasn’t totally being true to herself and Reese for that matter. Could I understand why she did some of the things she did? Yes. Do I agree with them? Not so much. I feel like she took a long time figuring things out and let Reece down.
Which brings me to Tyler. I DON’T TRUST HIM. At all. No questions ask I think he has a hidden agenda and Jenna is playing right into his hand. There’s just some things not connecting with him for me. There’s a part in the book that makes me sympathize with him and I slightly feel sorry for him, but I also feel like he’s a walking contradiction. I feel like whatever is behind Reece’s secret has something to do with Tyler and his father. I’m #TeamReese 100%.

I also love that Danielle showed a nicer side to Mike, because he was a total ACE in Heart Waves when it came to Jenna. He grew up some and started treating Jenna better. Just when Jenna’s best friend Grace started acting bitchy, I’m totally not fond of her at all in this book. Which is sad because Jenna needed her best friend even if she never said it and she wasn’t there, cue Tyler and his wannabe understanding self. Sorry if you’re a Tyler fan…I really don’t trust the guy.

For all you Reece fans, this book is mostly about Tyler…*hides* though I wasn’t a fan of that I understand it and I’m sure you all will too. I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t concerned about what this means for Jenna and Reese and with the way the book ended…. Let’s just say I hope our modern tail of Romeo and Juliet ends better than the one written by Shakespeare.  I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

I was glad I had read Heart Waves right before Breaking Waves came out. It was fresh on my mind.  Breaking Waves picks up right where Heart Waves left off.  Jenna woke up to find Reece gone and she was panicked.  She went home and was mad but Reece showed up later with flowers and acting all weird.  He came to tell her he had to go away to take care of things and make her safe.  Of course she wasn't happy about this.  But he promised to come back tomorrow.  He left her a few things including his ring.  To her this felt like a real goodbye.  Then the news came........ Reece's house blew up and he was the only one home.  Jenna was crushed.  I was shocked I cried, I could not believe this would happen.  Through the funeral and mourning Jenna kept thinking, Reece would not have left her all these things if he was really dead.  I thought the same.

Through her depression, Jenna's friends grew distant.  One person stepped up, and it was Tyler.  Jenna wasn't sure if she should trust him.  They fought.  Seriously Tyler's mood swings give my whiplash, nice, angry, indiffernt.  *shakes self*

Over time Tyler seemed to be the only one that could comfort Jenna, even her friends saw it and accepted it.  And as they grew closer Jenna continued to question her feelings and wanted to keep him close to find out about Reece. When Jenna Finds herself helping a drunk, hurting Tyler, she finds out how he feels and gives into feelings she's had.  When they decided to go for it, Tyler takes her to dinner....... But FAR away and there's a high speed chace????  *blaring warning  lights go off in my head*  And who is this weird Tyler again? And now Soft and sweet.   Then Jenna's choice to stick with him because he cared and she thinks Reece wouldn't hurt her this bad?  *SMH*  No wait.... I want to smack Jenna.

I loved that Danielle Sibarium kept me on my toes. What I thought would happen wasn't happening.  I am ready for the next book because I am sure to be surprised then too!

More About the Amazing Author

Danielle Sibarium grew up as an only child of divorced parents in Brooklyn, New York. Her imagination was developed at an early age. Surrounded by stuffed animals and imaginary friends, she transported herself into a fantasy world full of magic and wonder. Books were the gateway between her play world and reality. On any given summer afternoon she became Snow White sweeping and cooking for the dwarfs, or Cinderella waiting for the prince.

Danielle always loved dialogue and in elementary school began writing plays and short stories. This is when she began to understand she could not only bring her fantastical world to life for herself, but she could enchant others as well. And so she wrote. She wrote and wrote and wrote.

Sadly the first piece she ever sent out for publication of any sort was a letter to the editor of The Home News Tribune. It was a piece thanking the first responders for their bravery and selflessness on Sept 11th. It was chosen as letter of the week.

In 2007 Danielle collaborated with Charlotte Doreen Small to write songs for her CD More. Danielle wrote the lyrics for Take My Hand, and Goodbye, while Charlotte contributed the melody.

In October 2011 Danielle’s debut novel For Always was released. She has since released Heart Waves and the second book in the Heart Waves series, Breaking Waves

Danielle graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with honors, and currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.
