Pyxis

Corinne lives an average teenage life working at her dad’s cafe, hanging out with her best friend, and trying to forget a falling-out with her almost-boyfriend Mason. Things take a strange turn when she uses her late grandmother’s food dyes for a bake sale, and her customers suddenly find her irresistibly alluring. Then she discovers she and Mason are haunted by the same dreams of a dark force that consumes everything in its path.

Pursued by shadowy figures and a crazy woman with secrets from the past, Corinne must find out who her grandmother really was. In her quest to unravel her family’s history, she learns she is destined to protect this world--and the dark world of her dreams. She races to find the answers she seeks before her nightmares break free.

So I was totally confused at first when I started reading this book, but it could have been because my attention was being drawn all over the place…What I will say is once I got past all my distractions I seriously got hooked! I was so mad every single time I had to put the book down, Lol; I just had to get through it! I finally did and OMG I cannot wait till we read book 2!

So Corrine’s family is hiding a secret that she stumbles upon when she made cakes for her school. Something innocent shouldn’t bring complications right? Well Corrine and her friend Angeline stumble across this list that has their names as well as Masons. Mason is Corrine’s friend/crush that has been in Africa the last 5 months.  Their relationship is a little awkward but you’ll have to read the book to find out why.

The crazy thing is Corrine and Mason are sharing the same dreams….or should I say nightmares. He returns back to Tapestry to find out the three of them belong to this Tapestry Lake Convergence and Pyramidal Union. With a letter left behind by her deceased grandmother stating Corrine is the next Pyxis, Mason is a shield, and her friend Angeline is a guardian….and that the nightmares she’s having are warnings. What’s going to happen and what exactly is this Union? You’re going to have to read to figure that all out, piece of advice is have book 2, Alight, ready to read next!!

-Dani

So I recommended to Dani to Read Pyxis. Let's just say she loved it! I know I did! I read it A WHILE ago. So my memory is Fuzzy!! Loved the whole union and how they are connected and the list. The book keeps you hooked around every turn. Corrine, well I can't wait to see what will become of her as the Pyxis and what will happen with her and mason. I'm ready for book 2

Cover Reveal- Michelle Leighton's Down to You

Ok so Michelle Leighton is seriously one of our all time favorite authors! We've read all of her books and Dani quite possibly has every single one of her books in paper back with the exception of a few! We were so thrilled when asked to be apart of the cover reveal of her newest book!!! Of course we said yes and let me tell you, we can not wait for this book to be released!!

so without further adieu...

The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not.

Olivia Townsend is nothing special.  She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business.  She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple.  Black and white.
But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport.

They’re brothers.  Twins.

Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy.  He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost.  He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her.

Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy.  He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate.  But he’s taken.  Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin.  That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though.  With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.
Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can.  But it’s too late to run.  Olivia’s already involved.  And in love.  With both of them.

Both brothers make her heart tremble.  Both brothers set her body on fire.

She wants them both.
And they want her.
How will she ever choose between them?

Excerpt #2

Damn, she’s beautiful!

Between this girl’s black hair, her bright probably-green eyes, her banging little body and the way she seems a tiny bit shy, I’m wishing we were alone in this room together.

Her smile doesn’t leave her lips as she runs her hands around my waist, untucking my shirt.  When it’s free, she starts to pull it up.

But then she pauses.  For a split second, I see her hesitate.  She’s trying not to show that she’s unsure of herself, of what she’s doing.

I stare down into those liquid eyes.  I don’t want her to stop.  I want to feel her hands on my skin.  So I taunt her, hoping to feed the feline that I’d be willing to bet is buried somewhere down deep.

“Oh, come on.  Is that all you got?” I whisper.

Her eyes bore into mine and I hold my breath, waiting to see which side will win.  In fascination, I watch as the balance of power shifts and the change is reflected in her eyes.  They get a little brighter, a little feistier.  I’ve never actually seen someone muster courage.  Determination.  Something in this girl refuses to give in, to back down.  She’s rising to the challenge.  And it’s hot as hell.

She keeps her eyes on mine as she starts to pull up my shirt.  She leans in closer and I get a whiff of her perfume.  It’s sweet and a little musky.  Sexy.  Just like her.

She has to plaster her body to mine and stretch up on her tiptoes to get my shirt over my head.  I can feel her breasts pushing against my chest.  I could make the task easier for her.  But I don’t.  I like the feel of her rubbing against me.  There’s no way I’m ruining that.

Once she has my shirt off, she backs up and looks me over. She’s shy about it.  That much is obvious.  It’s like she wants to look, but she’s a little embarrassed to, which actually makes it more of a turn on for some reason.  I’m sure every other eye in the room is watching me, watching us, but hers are the only ones I can feel.  They’re like tongues of fire, licking my skin.  They’re searing and tangible.  Or at least they feel that way to me.

I take a deep breath and her eyes drop to my stomach.  Then they flicker down a little further.  She stares longer than she should, but not nearly as long as I want her to.  I start to get hard.

Her eyes widen and her lips fall open just enough for her tongue to sneak out and wet them.  I have to grit my teeth to keep from pulling her to me and kissing that lush little mouth of hers.

Light pours into the room. It’s just enough to break the spell.

Seriously can not wait for this book to be released!! go like it on Goodreads HERE

Blood Bond

Hybrids.

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.
Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.

Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John.

OMG OMG OMG *takes a deep breath*  so the ending to Cold Blood was pretty intense but has absolutely nothing on Blood Bond! Yes its taken me forever to finally start and finish it but let me tell you once you hit about 50% you can't put the book down, well at least I couldn't!

So Blood Bond started with "graduation" from Wood Point and Tara having a roomie for the summer, Cambria!! Fun times right and then getting to see Wes!!!! How awesome and exciting right?! Wrong... Well let's just say Tara and Wes can't catch a break...

George is changing, the hybrids are still gunning for Tara with a new person in control, and some things are going down with CHAS that's not quite right... Tara has some decisions she has to make on top of facing the wolf that's clawing to get out... Faced with more questions than answers, Tara sets out to find Astor DeLuca... Is he crazy, sane, or does he just know how to play the part? Will Tara be able to save George and at what cost?

Then there is Alex. Wanting to protect Tara but does he go to far? Is he really ready to face the consequences? Does he betray the one person he wanted to protect?

Heather had me all over this book and the ending OMG can't book 4 be out already because I don't know if I can take the suspense!!! I just want Wes to catch a break, it's been none stop obstacles in his way Tara.... She makes her mind up at the end... Wes or Alex? Cause or CHAS? Well your going to have to read to find out!

-Dani

Having been a fan of Dirty Blood and Cold Blood, I was excited to see how Blood Bond would go.  Once I started reading I was reminded of how Cold Blood ended and was ready to see what was becoming of Tara's wolf side.  The book opens up a little after where Cold Blood left off, its the end of school and Everyone is getting ready to either graduate or head home for the summer. Alex and Tara's friendship is uncomfortable (read to see why).  Tara gets a roommate for the summer in the form of Cambria! So much fun!  Wes has been hunting hybrids with Tara's grandma and others.  Once Tara and Cambria make it home and the reunions are made with her "home friend" Things are NOT going to just be lazy..... no of course not.... hypbrids are STILL hunting her.... SOMEONE is following Mile's orders still.  Tara's mom...... wellllllllll lets just say is REALLLY Strict.  George...... well he is healing, annnnnd turning. Tara is there to help him...... and they have a strong friendship AND an interesting bond.  You will meet Astor Deluca.  Is he Crazy? Is he smart?  Maybe both? What information does he tell Tara about herself?  Tara has to do some interesting work to get to him and Lets say asks for help from ALEX.  Lets talk about Alex for a sec, k?  Well Alex.... wants to do ANYTHING for Tara, but is it the Right thing?  You will find out.  AND what is with all those hybrids and what happens when Tara tries to help them??? HUGE things! And Tara makes a decision at the End of the book. Do you know what it is?  I do.

I LOVED this latest book by Heather Hildenbrand.  IF you havent read the other books you should!  I can't wait for book 4!

Revolution

In the fourth and final installment, everything is on the line. Merrick's life is in the balance and Lily is their only hope. Ellie and her new powers are miraculous, but also problematic; if she's with the bunker family, they won't be able to sense when the Lighters are there. There are many new members to the bunker and sparks will fly, and with the food shortage, they will all have plenty to deal with. Miguel is intrigued with Rylee, her past and her spunk. Ryan and Elli are barely scratching the surface of their relationship. Cain and Lillian will have to deal with Daniel, who has no qualms about showing his true feelings for her. And Sherry and Merrick…what will happen to this happenstance family who have worked so hard to come together? Can they all survive? Can they all withstand the new enemy that is right outside their door? Can they beat the Lighters, once and for all…

First let me say sorry it took me so long today to get our post together, moving sucks major sometimes! Shelly Crane, what can I say that would truly capture the way I feel about Revolution? I haven’t reviewed the rest of the Collide Series and I’m thinking I may have to remedy that because; this series is seriously one of the best series that shows the struggle of life and love.

First and foremost, for those of you have already read the Collide series up until this point, take a major deep breath and know Merrick is very much still with us! I was so worried but knew Shelly wouldn’t do that to us, I mean she is a HEA girl! I’ve read all her other books and I’ve never been disappointed! So a lot happens in this book, I mean it has to right since it’s the end. Is it going to be the end of human life as we know it, or is the Lighters reign finally over?

LOVE! OMG all the love that is instilled in this book is so breathtaking that I’m actually jealous of the relationships these characters have. A band of people who knew absolutely nothing about each other when everything got started formed an incredible family that some don’t see in the actually relatives they have. That in its own is truly inspirational and just shows you that family is who make it. Merrick and Shelley, their love is so awe worthy that whenever I’m reading about them I have this ridiculously huge grin on my face, totally and completely love them! Then there is Cain. Fell in love with Cain and was so happy when he got Lillian. Their love is amazing too, as is Danny and Celeste’s love. I’m telling you so much love, oh and Jeff and Marissa can’t forget them! Then there is the lovely Lily; the sweet, innocent, beautiful girl who is so important on so many levels and helps in more ways than one.  Sigh…then there is Daniel, the Lighter who turned sides…I can’t really talk about Daniel without giving away what happens, I happened to fall in love with him too and I believe my tears started around him. The most important thing to know about Daniel is he helps save the world from his fellow kinsmen.  Calvin comes into play into this book as well and he is a damn good special!

I love alternating POV, to me it makes each character more real by providing depth that we don’t see from single POVs. Shelly totally uses this in this book and it’s amazing, we even get a POV from Lily at the end. Love that little girl, I can hear her giggle in my mind know.  This was an amazing ending to an amazing series, and though I’m sad to see the end is here, I could not be happier or more thrilled at how it ended. Love Love Love Shelly Crane!

-Dani

First of all I LOVE Shelly Crane. I have read all her series! And Revolution is the end to her Collide series.  I have waited a bit for this book to find out what happened to Merrick.  Well thankfully my favorite Keeper.....is still with us.  You can rest assured there.  The whole book is just wow!! If you have read the others you know that the whole gang is fighting for their lives basically. I won't explain the Keeper/specials relationships..... Go read Collide for that. But Just everyone in this book learns "love in the moment". They never knew what was happening next or how long they were going to live.  Shelly takes us through MANY different POV's in this book.  Not just Sherry and Merrick.  At the End.... even LILY gets a POV.  She is so adorable.  I am writing this after just finishing and my eyes still have the dried tears from the happy I just read.  Remember LILY is the Key in this book.... pay attention to her! I LOVE that kid! Shelly did an amazing Job giving us the POV of different people.  I love Sherry and Merrick.....and let me tell you Cain is a Close second.  Yes Lillian comes with him but Cain..... He is just awesome.  I am sad to see these characters go but so glad they way Shelly wrapped up this series! They were given HOPE! (Winks at you all) And Love how "Daniel saved them all”.  So go now.... get Revolution if you haven't OR RUN and start with Collide and get moving through this series!

Thanks!

Hey guys Dani here, I just wanted to say thanks again for being so amazingly supportive! We are still trying to figure out the whole blogging world, so it means a lot to us! Christina is pretty awesome, she's holding down the twitter page while I'm trying to learn how to improve our blog. She also managed to create a Facebook page, so be sure to stop by and Like us over HERE !!

We both had a pretty busy day today, which is why there wasn't a post! We are currently reading Shelley Crane's last book in the Collide Series, Revolution, and we are so pumped so be looking for the review some time tomorrow! Then we will be getting back to Heather Hildenbrand's Blood Bond, I'm so nervous, the ending of Cold Blood had me worried, but Christina told me I have nothing to worry about so I'm going to trust her!

We will get our act together soon, we'll I will anyways! I'm kind of holding Christina back a tad, lol, I just moved houses and everything is all over the place and my boys are a handful at times, so sadly the reading is put last on the list. On top of that I came down with a cold, but I promise we will be getting to posting at least one review a day soon! We tend to read at least two books, so hopefully we will be getting there soon. If you guys have any book recommendations, let us know, comment, tweet us , facebook us or shoot an email to crazybookchicks@yahoo.com!

Thanks again for all the love and support, we are completely thrilled with the opportunity of being apart of the book blogging world!
